Jaywink (Jason Robinson) started Djing in Oulu around the year 2000.
Starting out with house and two-step he soon found a love for breakbeat. A move to Helsinki at the end of 2002 resulted in more gigs and a residency at Motion, Finlands only 100% monthly breaks club. The future is looking bright with gigs including the Koneisto festival of 2003.
Well what's all this breaks then?
This is what Jay had to say about it: "I love breaks because it's a mash-up of all sorts of other genres. There's the influence of old-skool, there's techno and electro. It's got the energy to make you dance, the funk to make you groove out of your pants and basslines so deep your insides will remember them for weeks" With a few words he sums his style as bassline-driven electro-influenced breaks.
