H.A.N.D. Productions proudly presents...   April b-eat-z offers the best of spring grooves and local deejays. DJ's Smok, Teemu P and our own Kenguru are on a mission to get those booties shaking. Funk and electro, house and teutonic techno... that should do the trick. Dj Smok (Oulu) (22.00 - 23.30) The variety of different forms of electronica -house music especially- has become a way of living for DJ Smok. Not just as a dj, but also a producer of some material of his own. No smok where there's no fire. Indeed! From smoking deep house to a bit more edgier techno from artists like: Fred Everything and Phonogenic. Dj Ken-Guru (Oulu) (23.30 - 01.30) B-eat-z resident pays a visit to a vibrating world of "elektronic funk". The electroclash may be over but it's time to figure out what was left of that movement -and more importantly- is it really over yet. Ken-guru was never a big fan of punky lo-fi electro but when something becomes trendy that means not everything is crap and the "real" electro and electro funk was warmly welcomed by Ken-Guru. Ladies and gentlewomen... Here's a small sample of what to expect in Ken-Guru's set: 1. Jose Gonzales - Crosses (Jori Hulkkonen remix) 2. Isolee - Lost 3. Rex The Dog - Prototype 4. Dj Teemu P (Oulu) (01.30 - 03.30) The finishing touches for april b-eat-z are handled by the voice of local web radio Jatkoaika, Mr Teemu P. Cracking house, banging techno and some of that fine electroclash... sounds good. A perfect mixture of quality house by Brett Johnson, teutonic techno by Johannes Heil and a touch of elektro by Rend. And if that's not enough... there will be some surprises that have never been heard in Oulu before. His mixing style is at the same time crowd friendly and challenging.
