May B-eat-z with REGINA LIVE! B-eat-z spring season is coming to an end and we have asked Regina to play a live set. They have a new album "Oi miten suuria voimia" out and the reviews have been very positive from both record buyers and critics.   Warm up sounds will be handled by our friend from up north, Rovaniemi, dj San Mejor.   Regina The composer-producer Mikko Pykäri and the vocalist Iisa Pajula became a real band after the audience and the club promoters had spotted the 3 early demo tracks they had put available for download on their website. After receiving enough encouraging requests for a live performance they made their first public appearance at the legendary Semifinal club in Helsinki, and were signed by Next Big Thing at the very instant. In their live performances they are accompanied by the drummer Mikko Rissanen. After charming the festival and club audiences with their refreshingly honest and natural approach on music they found themselves being one of the most talked about new electronic acts of 2005. The first single "Olisitko sittenkin halunnut palata/ Katso maisemaa" stormed the playlists of both national YleX and local Radio Helsinki playlists, and the Katso maisemaa- album has been equally loved by the consumers and the critics. The debut album was also released in Japan in August 2006. Since then, his style has changed dramatically and it now includes everything starting from funky and soulful house to groovy electro and breaks with atmospheric progressive sounds. On his gigs he throws in a spicy combination of the above styles which makes his sets dynamic and let the sounds escalate through the night. Nowadays San Mejor is also a promoter, running a Lick!-club in Rovaniemi.
